TCC Career Fair
The high school TCC Career Fair is Wednesday, May 16th, from 8:30 to 1:30 on the TCC campus with workshops, free lunch, career exploration, hands on demonstrations, and campus tours. Bus transportation from HBHS and back will be provided.
Please encourage your student to participate in this opportunity to experience a college environment. For students in the Decisions class, this qualifies as a career day.

Leadership Clothing Drive
The Henderson Bay Leadership Class will be holding a clothing drive for The Orion Center, a drop-in house with services for homeless youth in Seattle. It is run by an organization called YouthCare and provides basic needs like hot meals, warm clothes & shelter. Gently used teenage clothing and other items listed below will gladly be accepted through June 8 at the school. So why not do a little spring cleaning? Many thanks for any support you can give.
Current Needs for The Orion Center: Gently-used, teen-friendly clothing (including summer wear), new underwear, new socks, travel-size deodorant, razors & travel-size shaving cream, shoes, dental supplies, and school supplies.
Free Immunizations!
Franciscan Health Care nurses will be providing free immunizations for all children through the age of 18. This is a great opportunity for fifth graders to get the required vaccines for entry into sixth grade. A parent/guardian must accompany the student and bring the student's shot record to the immunization clinic.
- Wednesday, 5/30/12, Vaughn Elementary, 3:00-5:30 PM
- Wednesday, 6/13/12, Evergreen Elementary, 3:30-5:00 PM
Important Senior Reminders
It's not too late to turn in a scholarship notebook if you are graduating and have not done so; donors are looking at notebooks daily and selecting students for monetary awards for post high school education. See Marilyn Boyle for an instruction packet and blank notebook cover. Approximately $30,000 in community scholarships are awarded at Henderson Bay's graduation.
Caps and gowns will arrive the first week of May and will be distributed at school. Be sure to send out your graduation announcements four to five weeks in advance so loved ones and friends can plan to attend.
Senior meetings will be held in May to finalize the senior event and other graduation details. Graduation is on Friday, June 15 at 7 pm in The Gathering Place at Chapel Hill.
Diplomas will be held if a student has fees or fines still owing. For more information about your bill, call Lisa Stewart, Bookkeeper @ 253-530-1712. For more information about graduation, call Dawn Richey @ 253-884-4542 or email her @ This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
